How do I achieve my dream of working for the UN?

I am a senior in high school and will be taking up Asian Studies for college next year, bec. my mom said that Asia is the center for growth and development. I really want to work for the UNO and do social work. Am I on the right track? Do you have any suggestions where could I start working or participating to reach my goal?
