Is epilepsy hereditary?

I had two episodes that felt like seizures, so, I searched around my family's medical history and I found out that one person from my mother side suffered from epilepsy and one person from my father side suffers from epilepsy too. I am wondering if epilepsy is hereditary could it be that I got epilepsy too?
